Requirements for UCC Admissions 2024/2025
Whether you're a local or international applicant, here are
the approved academic requirements for admission into UCC’s first-degree
programmes:
📝 1. WASSCE/SSSCE
Applicants
Applicants must have credit passes in six (6) subjects
with an overall aggregate of:
- 36
for WASSCE candidates
- 24
for SSSCE candidates
Mandatory Subjects:
- English
Language
- Core
Mathematics
- Integrated
Science or Social Studies
- Plus
three (3) relevant elective subjects
Credit Pass Definition:
- WASSCE:
A1 – C6
- SSSCE:
A – D
📘 2. GCE Advanced Level
Applicants must have:
- Five
(5) credit passes in GCE ‘O’ Level including English Language and
Mathematics
- Plus
three (3) relevant passes at the GCE ‘A’ Level
📊 3. General Business
Certificate Examination (GBCE)
Must have credit passes (A–D) in six (6) subjects, made up
of:
- Three
(3) core subjects (including English and Mathematics)
- Three
(3) relevant elective subjects
🌍 4. International
General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE)
Applicants must have:
- Five
(5) GCE ‘O’ Level credits including English and Mathematics
- Plus
three (3) passes in related subjects at the Advanced Level
🎓 5. International
Baccalaureate (IB)
- A
minimum grade of 4 at the Higher Level in three (3) subjects
related to the chosen programme
- For
Health and Allied Sciences: Minimum grade 5
- Plus,
at least grade 4 in English/Literature and Mathematics (Standard
Level)
🇺🇸 6. American
High School Grade 12
- A Final
Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 or above
🏃♂️ 7. Practical Exams
for B.Ed. (Physical Education) Applicants
WASSCE/SSSCE candidates applying for B.Ed. in Health,
Physical Education, and Recreation must prepare for a mandatory
practical examination. The date will be announced soon.
📬 8. No Hard Copy
Submissions Required
- After
completing the online application, print a copy for your own
reference.
- Do
not send any hard copies to the university by post or hand delivery.

option and provide your details accordingly.
- If
you already have your results, do not select that option.
